Kevin Arnold: Rock Star
Why I love The Wonder Years TV Show
Growing up happens in a heartbeat. One day you’re in diapers, the next day you’re gone. But the memories of childhood stay with you for the long haul. I remember a place, a town, a house, like a lot of houses. A yard like a lot of other yards. On a street like a lot of other streets. And the thing is, after all these years, I still look back…with wonder.
The thing is, The Wonder Years TV show was, and still is, my all-time favorite TV show. Now that it’s on Netflix, I’ve been watching the show all over again, and so far, I’m still in love. Kevin Arnold is me, he’s you, but most importantly, he’s the guy we all wanted to be. Not because he was popular, or super smart, but because he expressed his thoughts no matter the cost, whether it meant being ridiculed by his peers or punched in the face by a bully. His character matured through the episodes because he had courage — courage to be himself, and courage to go through his problems.
The story, acting, writing and music are all amazing. And, i absolutely love TV shows that are told in chronological order; the writers remember past episodes and the entire world becomes believable. I have yet to discover a hole in The Wonder Years.
Another major aspect of the show that captivates me (and I’m sure most fans) is the love story between Kevin and Winnie (the super cooper). It’s realistic and beautiful.
So, if you’re searching for a wholesome, touching tale right before you hit the hay, watch a 20-minute episode of the Wonder Years and you’re sure to enter dreamland with that warm happy feeling in your stomach, or wherever you store those nice emotions.
I’m watching The Wonder Years on Netflix right now. I always thought that Paul Pfieffer was such a cutie pie. ;)
so glad netflix has the wonder years.
I wish I could start a companion blog called, “Winnie Cooper is a Hipster” since I’ve started re-watching The Wonder Years on Netflix. Or maybe that would be a more appropriate title for Kevin’s sister, Karen, since she was a hippie? Whatever. I need to start studying for finals rather than creating new TV blogs on here.
